Despite attention to preserving and improving physical features, the revitalization of historic houses in Iran has been less examined from the perspective of the relationship between objective features of space, users' perception, and their environmental behavior. This study aims to explore the relationship between revitalized architecture and users' environmental behavior in historic houses of Qazvin and to identify the pathways through which physical and perceptual components influence users' behavior. The research employed a mixed-methods approach using analytical survey. Primary data were collected through a researcher-made questionnaire, and the architectural components of revitalization were examined in two categories: dynamic physical components, including greenery, lighting, ventilation, acoustics, and visual quality; and static physical components, including adaptability, accessibility, new additions and interventions, building preservation, and patterns of use. Alongside these data, users' perceptual-cognitive and behavioral dimensions were assessed, including sense of belonging and satisfaction, mental image of the building, perception of historical values, sense of security and comfort, social interactions, and patterns of use. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling, while field observations and tracking of user activities were used as complementary evidence to interpret quantitative findings. Findings showed that revitalized architecture has a direct and significant effect on users' environmental behavior. Among dynamic physical components, visual quality, and among static physical components, building preservation were the most influential factors; in the perceptual dimension, mental image of the building and sense of belonging and satisfaction played prominent roles. Field observations revealed that the studied houses provided the ground for desirable user behaviors through different pathways, including functional adaptability, visual richness. Overall, the findings indicate that users' environmental behavior results from the interaction between objective architectural features, environmental qualities, and users' perception, and successful revitalization of historic houses requires simultaneous attention to the physical, functional.
