Abstract:   (209 Views)
Cultural history is a complex field with abstract and concrete assumptions that vary in their epistemic levels. When applied to domains such as architecture, confusion can arise from intermixing these levels. current study addresses this issue by clarifying the epistemic levels of cultural history and identifying the necessary hierarchical order for its application in the history of architecture. Specifically, our research seeks to answer two questions: what are the assumptions of cultural history at each epistemic level, and what are the requirements for applying these assumptions in writing a cultural history of architecture? The methodology utilized involves a systematic and discursive approach to logical reasoning, with data sourced primarily from library resources. Our analysis has revealed that cultural history, when viewed through a philosophical lens, falls under the umbrella of the analytical philosophy of history. A philosophical rejection of Hegelian characterizes this perspective thought. At the paradigmatic level, our findings indicate a critical stance, and at a theoretical level, a foundation in cultural and critical theories is necessary.
